The Radiomir brand of watches has always been known for their reliability and sturdiness even in the most extreme conditions. The distinctive characteristics of the brand are its large size and the legibility of the dial in immersion. The Radiomir was incidentally the first watch created by Panerai. This was in 1938, and the watches were manufactured for the Royal Italian Navy. In 1997, a Replica version was brought out; there were only about 60 units of these, however.

The Radiomir Black Seal, basically a men’s model, beautifully blends the best features of Panerai watches - the traditional reliability with the most advanced of technology. Made from AISI 316L steel, it has a 45 mm dial, which has an unusual three dimensional appearance achieved by the super imposition of two separate discs. The upper one is black with perforated numerals and hour markers while the lower one is coated with Super Luminova, which makes the dial visible in the dark. The dial is black, going with the tradition of Radiomir and has Arabic numerals, baton hour markers, luminous baton hands, and sapphire crystal front and back. The dial features centre hour and minute hands, and a small second hand subdial at the 9 o’ clock position.
Other features of the watch include a 56 hour power reserve, a leather strap with hypo-allergenic lining, personalized screw-down crown, and buckle. The cushion-shaped case in which it comes is no less stylish either. The watch is ideal for the adventurous as it is water resistant up to 100 meters. Another feature is that the model is equipped with the caliber OPIII, which is an automatic mechanical movement with its finish reinforced by Cotes de Geneve decoration. As a result there is a power reserve of eight days.
